Originally built in 1830, the old and stylish “Le Chant de la Pierre” has recently been totally renovated. The detached stone house (110 square metres) with its original traditional pegged beams has a distinctive period touch. The accommodation consists of three bedrooms – one double and two twin (one with air conditioning). Two WC (one of which en suite bathroom) Large 65 square metres living room with a bright bay window. Outside, surrounded by high walls to ensure your privacy, is a paved patio with a water fountain. The well-appointed kitchen has been completely refurbished with new dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, TV set, CD player etc. There is a vacuum cleaner on each floor. Four bikes at disposal. Wifi and phone for free to GB (Except mobiles)

The Pool

The pool, overlooking the village, is located next to our own house (5 minutes’ walk or two minutes’ drive from your gite). It is at your exclusive disposal for 5 hours per day. And free to access from morning to 8 PM plus two evenings (with a barbecue at your disposal) We live opposite the pool and make it a point to respect your privacy. The advantage is that unlike when having a pool near your gite, you don't have to be on a constant look out for the children's safety and have no technical upkeeping to deal with.

Village and Surroundings

The gite stands alongside the stream in a quiet village within a conservation area 8 kms from the regional park of Les Causses. In the centre of Gigouzac you will find a 12th Century Church and an Observatory. There are plenty of local walks, kayaking and climbs nearby. There is a small fishing lake and a selection of shops in the nearest village of Catus both within ten minutes'drive.

As well as the pool, our quiet and somewhat secluded house is surrounded by 5 acres of woodland with plenty of rabbits and, at times, deer on the edge of the wood (see pictures). We also have a dwarf nanny goat, a goose, two ducks and several hens which might be of interest to the children. Eggs are available for free on request during the laying period.

There are four adult bicycles and fishing tackle at your disposal plus a tennis court in the village (3 euros/ hour).
